Winner: “Golden Hour At South Tufa” By Jeff Sullivan

“This was captured at the South Tufa site on Mono Lake, a salt lake known for its tufa calcium carbonate rock formations that form underwater where springs bring calcium-rich water to the alkaline lake,” explains Sullivan, who describes the image: “The first warm light of the sun shines through a hole in supernova-formed calcium in Mono Lake’s calcium carbonate tufa rock formations.”
