Such as affordability, accessibility, size and weight. If you are designing a bug out bag on a budget, this system might be a cost effective way to go. To set up this shelter, first run a ridge line between two tree\'s. The tree\'s should be wider than the tarp. Make sure this line is taunt. Then fold the tarp over the ridge line with about 1/3 hanging over the top of the ridge cord, 1/3 stretching from the ridge line to the ground and 1/3 on the ground itself. Now you want to insulate the bottom of your shelter. You can use leaves, grass, pine needles. What ever you can find. At this point you also want to make at least 4 steaks. To do this just find some twigs and sharpen one ends. Now run two of the stakes through the two holes on the portion of the tarp laying on the ground. Then attach the other two stakes to the portion of the tarp that is hanging over using your cordage.
