Winner: “Alien Land” By Garry Everett
“A trip to Death Valley in June wasn’t the wisest decision I’ve ever made, followed by another to shoot sunset after a daytime temperature of 128 degrees Fahrenheit,” says Everett. “The sun had long set and the temperature had cooled to a balmy 119 degrees when the light on the high clouds changed to this weird pink/purple color and the landscape took on an almost alien-like appearance.”
Canon EOS 5D Mark II. Exposure: 1.6 sec., f/11, ISO 100.
